We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Microsoft 365 Architect to join their team for a six-month contract.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives:
You will be responsible for various projects simultaneously, owning the end to end design from inception to the completion of delivery. The focus will be to enable continuous deployment of Microsoft 365 products and features to support the Business. This will involve exposure to a range of business challenges and working with a range of subject matter experts (including 3rd parties) and implementation teams to help address them.
1. Technical leadership and acting as a subject matter expert (SME) relating to Microsoft 365 products and their implementation
2. To define and articulate pragmatic and commercially viable solutions to business challenges or opportunities. Includes ensuring all Business, application, information/data, infrastructure and security elements are defined to sufficient detail, allowing implementation teams to progress. Testing, release/transition, and operational/support/service considerations also need to be covered
3. Ensuring all functional and non-functional requirements are met for a particular business challenge or opportunity, or any exceptions are justified, agreed with all applicable stakeholders and signed off
4. Working with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure solutions align with business and technology strategy or seeking and agreeing (minimal) dispensations where this makes sense for the organisation
5. Leading and coordinating other SMEs, both internal and external to the client, where these are involved with solution design and subsequent implementation
6. Identification of "quick wins" or short term transition architectures (eg a minimum viable product) which enables the prompt realisation of business benefits at reduced risk, complexity and cost
7. Troubleshooting complex and often intermittent technical challenges
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
1. Experience in designing and delivering pragmatic and commercially viable solutions based around Microsoft 365. Must be able to demonstrate experience in defining the Business, application, information/data, infrastructure and security elements of a solution and how this met functional and non-functional requirements (including how any exceptions or dispensations were handled)
2. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 and related products (eg Microsoft Teams). To include integration with other systems (eg SaaS, authentication, Legacy systems)
3. Familiarity with the broader Microsoft technology stack (eg operating systems, system security, hardware and database management, Cloud/Azure)
4. software development or SaaS/cloud architecture groups
5. AWS and/or Azure Certified
6. Understanding of test frameworks for automated testing/compliance
7. Experience in Agile and Waterfall delivery methods in a large-scale Programme Delivery environment
Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:
1. Microsoft Certified Professional (eg previous MCSA or Microsoft 365-specific)
2. TOGAF accreditation or BCS Chartered Professional, or Fellow in Solution Development & Architecture
3. Cyber security related certifications/designations, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
4. Familiarity with industry compliance and security standards (eg ISO27001, PCI-DSS)
