Exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading charitable sector clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Azure DevOps Engineer to join their team for a rolling three-month contract.
The DevOps Engineer is a technical role working as part of the DevOps team with responsibility for supporting the full system life cycle management of all digital based applications from delivery through to operational support.
The role will require a blend of Azure DevOps skills and Sitecore CMS development skills. Candidates who have strong experience in either discipline will be considered with experience in both a distinct advantage.
Delivery and operational support of the technical digital environment including all components that underpin the digital ecosystem.
Design: Provide expert input in supporting architectural thinking on the design and development of the digital environment, keeping current with technology evolution in the digital space.
Delivery: Support the software release and environment management for all digital components that make up the digital ecosystem.
Support: Provide high quality 2nd and 3rd level operational support for all the digital systems ensuring that systems meet agreed availability and performance targets and incidents and requests are efficiently and professionally managed.
Provide post implementation development support for software errors and bugs raised following software deployment.
Participate in all DevOps activity and support the embedding a DevOps culture across all technical teams (development, infrastructure; cloud; QA).
Undertake software build, deployment, support and post implementation bug-fixing responsibility for all digital products supported internally.
Undertake effective end to end monitoring of the digital landscape, ensuring that appropriate monitoring and alerting systems in place are effective and alerts are appropriately dealt with.
Work with the DevOps Manager and wider DevOps team and Digital Development teams to establish effective software build and deployment processes, employing repeatable delivery patterns for application releases using Agile methodologies.
Managing the digital environments, incorporating prod and non-prod platforms with an emphasis on automated environment management and IAC ensuring that digital environments are manged efficiently and cost effectively.
Provide support and subject matter expertise for all digital related services, operating both as a central conduit for digital application related queries and issues; and as a centre of excellence for resolving digital system and environmental issues across the organisation.
Work with the wider DevOps team and Digital Development and Testing teams to ensure digital applications and environments meet availability, capacity and security requirements.
Maintain appropriate digital application and environment management documentation in accordance with IT best practice.
Work to meet established SLA and OLA targets as part of a high-performance service approach which will benchmark performance of the team against required deliverables.
Own and take prompt action to escalate service issues ensuring that Technology Operations is seen as a trusted and reliable Technology management function.
Contribute to and participate in Technology Service Improvement initiatives which ensure that the DevOps team is fully aligned with the wider Technology Operations objective to put our customers' requirements first.
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Strong Microsoft Development experience, Agile/Scrum, ITIL V2/V3/V4, Min 5 years' experience working on digital delivery programmes and functions.
Experience of working with Azure PaaS app deployment, Azure DevOps, CI/CD usingARM Templates, Infrastructure as Code and Azure Build and Release Pipelines.
Subject Matter Expertise in the construction and deployment of Sitecore CMS environments and associated technologies (eg Digital Asset Management).
High level of proficiency in the Microsoft digital development and delivery stack including, but is not limited to, Sitecore CMS; Digizuite Digital Asset Management; Microsoft DevOps; Content Delivery Network (CDN); Advanced diagnostics and alerting toolsets (eg Dynatrace).
Proven development experience with Microsoft .NET, C#, MS DevOps, PowerShell and VS Code.
Strong technical understanding of Microsoft Azure architecture including Azure network and security models.
Experience of application management and software deployment in Microsoft enterprise cloud PaaS environments using Microsoft DevOps pipelines.
Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
