Network Engineer - West Midlands
*A national security clearance is required for this role but candidates not holding this level of clearance will be considered*
Leading Managed Services Provider in the Defence Sector require a skilled Network Support Engineer to join their successful Practice on an ongoing contract basis.
We are looking for Network engineer with skills necessary to support the TOC Technical Operations Centre.
Skills - Mandatory:
- Technical Support/Problem Solving in Networks or Applications
- Managing Tasks
- Knowledge Management
- System Testing
- Communication - with all levels of the organisation internally
- Service NOW experience Management tools knowledge and ticket handling/processing
- CCNA, CCNP
- Technical reporting
- Change control
Key Performance:
- Support Commission connectivity for Wireless LAN through to AiS
- On-board into tools and provide support to live deployments based on 24/7 basis - on call support maybe required.
- General understanding of networking (sub-netting)
- Able to carry out network management discovery work with a solid understanding of customer estate
- Knowledge and understanding of the network design process
- IPAM and IP address reservation
- Understanding of Wireless Technologies, preferable Aruba
- Troubleshooting Aruba devices during migration from switching & routing perspective
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot Workstation connectivity issues (DHCP/VLAN)
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot office telephony issues (VoIP/SIP)
- Wireless LAN (Aruba), LAN (switching), WAN (routing), VOIP/Telephony Technologies testing
