Service Architect

Contract length: Initially to the with possibility of extension

Location: Hybrid - 2 days ideally will be Reading

Purpose of role: This role is responsible for providing service management and domain expertise in the area of IP Transport networks by analysing, crafting and developing commercially viable end-to-end service solutions based on the customer specifications and business needs. The role will have responsibility to collaborate with external partners, whilst also being responsible for the work with Service Delivery Unit (SDU) to secure performance and life cycle of the Services across Access Transport Networks.

Responsibilities:

The overall E2E technical architecture of the Access Transport Network. Deep understanding and knowledge of IP Backhaul networks covering following areas: routing, switching (IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, L3VPN), SDN, Cisco, Network virtualization, Huawei and Nokia and Cisco routing products exposure.

Provide technical leadership ensuring new solutions and service design meets exacting acceptance criteria to meet encouraged business outcomes.

The technical planning and design of a New Services underpinning ITIL based service management approach, including change/update to an existing Service.

Analyze and Propose configuration changes to design where vital and support Service Catalogue Management.

The technical management throughout life cycle. Includes roadmap, change/release management, demand and capacity management, deployment and termination, along with the required testing and evaluation of the Service to support the customer experience.

Support the Service Operations Governance both internally and with the customer for the Service Performance in the contract, to also include Program & Demand Management.

Act as the "service champion", engaging customers and suppliers to ensure design, operational acceptance and change activities are following standard methodology, meeting acceptance criteria and reducing the risk to the network/service.

To be successful in the role:

Demonstrable experience of leading by example, working collaboratively and dynamically across the business, with our customers, partners and suppliers in removing complexity,

Solid customer management, understanding their point of view and being able to empathise with their business situation and needs

CCNP or similar certification preferred
