Video Conferencing SME (VC Operations Engineer)

A Leading FTSE 250 Company are looking to hire an experienced Video Conferencing SME (VC Operations Engineer)

. Based in London (offering a lot of remote work - twice a month in the office)

* Paying between £200 - £300 a day (Inside IR35 - Umbrella Only)

Role Overview

The firm is looking for an individual with strong technical skills and experience with audio and video conferencing technologies. This individual will be joining a seasoned team of specialists that oversee all aspects of our audio/video platforms and room-based conferencing systems.

This role will contribute to the day-to-day operations and health of our standard video and meeting platforms, configuration and monitoring of room-based systems, concierge services for live events, town halls and executive level meetings, and general end user support for video related issues.

This individual will bring enterprise scale experience and innovation with audio/video technologies, help develop process playbooks, and have strong operational experience in supporting large scale video productions. This will be a highly visible and collaborative role requiring good communication skills.

The Video & Conferencing Operations Technology Specialist responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Day-to-day operations of the firm's video platforms, conferencing events and maintenance of room-based systems
  • Experience and ability to set up and verify the technology for internal and external client video conferences for all levels including our executives.
  • WebEx Event setup and support a plus as setup and troubleshooting is different from regular WebEx meetings, we are willing to train.
  • Troubleshooting meeting issues related to audio, video, and laptop presentations.
  • Partner with network team, helpdesk, and end user support team to optimize efficiencies with identifying and remediating any issues or outages
  • Concierge services for large, online events (town halls, conferences, executive meetings)
  • Management of issues/outages and timely communication to stakeholders
  • End of day room checks (equipment retrieval).
  • Proactive monitoring of video platform(s) and meeting experience
  • Continual innovation with improving monitoring, management and operations of the firm's video services and integration with related systems
  • Experience with video recording solutions and services
  • Knowledge of WebEx, Teams and Zoom meetings a plus (we are willing to train up for our implementation and usage of these platforms).
  • Phone support/Ticket support with ability to reach out to team members and helpdesk.

Qualifications and skills

  • 3+ years of experience with video conferencing platforms and room-based hardware
  • 3+ years of experience working in/with a network operations center
  • Expertise with A/V technologies (Teams, WebEx, Zoom, Cisco room kit, voice services integration)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in managing large-scale deployments across international offices, datacenters, managed vendors, and cloud service providers
  • Work effectively both as a contributing team member and independently.
  • Creative problem solving with the ability to present multiple solutions and potential side effects.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
