Our client is responsible for the correct and fair collection of taxes, excise duties and other taxes in Belgium. On top of that, he makes sure that all that money ends up in the right places. As a result, everyone in our country can enjoy good infrastructure, social facilities and so much more. The ICT staff service provides an information system to the scheduled services that enables them to achieve their strategic objectives. In order to achieve these objectives, the business sets requirements for the information system according to a number of criteria: efficiency, efficiency, confidentiality, integrity, availability, conformity and reliability.

The ICT Staff Service ensures efficient ICT support for all services. This includes:
  • acquiring and ensuring the availability of infrastructure, ranging from office equipment and peripherals to telecommunications to server platforms;
  • the acquisition and provision of customized software, ranging from typical office applications to generic software to development of specific business applications;
  • defining, expanding and respecting the ICT standards and foundations.


Within the ICT Staff Service, the General Administration department of Customs and Excise (ICT-AAD&A) supports the corresponding ICT needs of Customs and Excise.

You will:
  • You will build up the necessary technical expertise, together with the team, in the non-exhaustive list of specific technical domains below, also called services:
  • Communicatiemiddelen (GSM/GPRS, Tetra radio, Walkie-Talkie, Half-duplex portofoon, Track/Trace, …)
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Detectiemiddelen
  • Observatiemiddelen
  • Scanning systems (fixed and mobile airports), Megaports (seaports)
  • Control systems for public roads (TACHO, ANPR, office vehicle design such as scanner/printer, payment terminal, ...)
  • Specific software and hardware for the AADA
  • Specific (fiber) networks
  • Support Labo AADA
  • Support Maritime Information Crossroads and Coast Guard Centre

  • You negotiate the service levels ('Service Levels') and define them in consultation with the customer in SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
  • You monitor the quality of these services provided in order to optimize them and tailor them to the needs of the customer.
  • You ensure that the future ICT needs of the services are considered, planned and implemented in a timely manner in consultation with CNECDA.
  • You provide the necessary support in the process of public tenders of equipment and services in the various services. You will intervene in drawing up the technical specifications of specifications and participate in evaluation committees.
  • Together with the project leader of CNECDA, you carry out the project coordination for the realization of new services, in consultation with AADA, the internal services of the ICT Staff Service and any external parties such as companies and other government services.
  • You optimize the capacity of the ICT infrastructure to achieve a cost-efficient and sustained level of availability.
  • You look for solutions in case of emergencies and ensure that the ICT services are restored within the agreed timeframe. This ensures the continuity of the operation of the AADA.
  • You collect, register, analyze and report on the functioning of the services via the provided tools.
  • You monitor the allocated budget for the services and approve the corresponding invoicing.
