Harvey Nash is pleased to be working with our Public Sector client to recruit a Network Specialist, on a part time basis (2 days per week) on an initial 6 month contract at a daily rate of £400 per day, inside IR35.
Main Responsibilities:
- To build, deploy and maintain the organisation's IT Infrastructure using the latest technologies. This infrastructure extends to Windows Server, Storage Area Networks, Virtualisation, Unix Server applications, Networking Technologies, Internet Connections, Windows Desktop, Mobile Devices and Application Packaging and Deployment.
- To contribute to the process focused approach to IT Service Management.
- Provide technical skills to assigned projects.
- You will be responsible for providing a high level of technical skill to one or more of the following technical specialists. Client and Server Management, Unix Server applications such as Oracle, Solaris, Linux, Storage, Wintel, Technical Security, and Networking Technologies.
- Have the technical skills to be involved in supporting all aspects of the IT Service Infrastructure if and when required.
- Responsible for carrying out a range of technical tasks in order to implement, support and manage complex elements of the IT infrastructure including Windows Server, Storage Area Networks, Virtualisation, Unix Server Applications, Networking Technologies, Security Solutions, Systems Software, Windows Desktop, Mobile Devices and Application Packaging and Deployment.
- Provide technical support to the IT Service Desk staff as required.
Essential Skills:
- Educated to a relevant degree level in an IT discipline or three years relevant experience working within the technical IT function of a similar sized
- Two years' experience of implementing and supporting a similar size network structure in 1 or more of the following technical
- Client and Server Management
- Fortinet Firewall administration
- Avaya IPT Networking Technologies
- Extreme EXOS and VOSS LAN switching
- ExtremeIQ WLAN management
- Experience in the application of IT security controls
- Ability to make sound decisions and prioritise work for self
- Comprehensive analytical skills to comprehend complex
- technical reports or system performance information
- Ability to produce meaningful and concise written reports of a technical nature
- Knowledge and application of ITIL
Desirable Skills:
- ITIL v3 Foundation certificate or above
- Project management PRINCE2 foundation certificate or knowledge/application of PRINCE2
- Technical accreditations in one or more areas of technical specialism
- Experience of supporting a diverse range of technical platforms
- Experience working on IT projects
- Experience in providing input to the development of strategies, policies and procedures
- Knowledge of IT Service Continuity procedures
Please note this opportunity has been determined as Inside IR35 and will require the working through an umbrella company. This is a part time opportunity, working 2 days per week.
