ROLE SUMMARY:
Responsible for Electrical planning, design, verification, evaluation and analysis of energy storage sites with specific emphasis on the balance of plant and construction for existing and prospective energy storage sites
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct and support preliminary technical due diligence and feasibility studies of prospective projects, including site visits.
- Assess and analyze information obtained through site surveys, System Operators, project documentation, data provided by relevant stakeholders etc. for the planning, sizing, and design of the power system
- Design and plan systems based on country specific Electricity System Operators and Distribution Network Operators, with emphasis on Grid codes, metering and operational requirements
- Assist in preparing documents and drawings necessary for obtaining permits and licenses
- Plan, size, and design optimal system solution, and prepare technical outputs for bid/proposal submissions.
- Support technical aspects of contract negotiations, and pre-construction approvals process such as permitting, grid connection etc.
- Support project construction/equipment installation, testing and commissioning activities.
- Work closely with Sales to put together client proposals/bid submissions, business case for internal approvals, and reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform technical evaluation during project construction, but evaluating proposals from vendors, and other stake holders.
- Support Project managers in ensuring project quality and schedules are met
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Power systems engineering design and construction experience (candidates with background in conventional and renewables power generation and HV substation design are welcomed)
- Project management in construction
- Proficient in understanding European Grid Codes Well versed in Schematic Diagrams
- Proficient in Electrical System Protection
- Well-versed in AutoCAD or similar software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Willing and able to travel including sites
DESIRABLE:
- Experience in Battery Energy Storage technologies for grid-connected systems in Europe
- Experience in evaluating Civil Drawings
- Experience in Testing and Commissioning
- Understanding of energy project economics and of concepts such as NPV, IRR and LCOE
- Fluent in German and/or Dutch
LOCATION:
Rotterdam (NL) is preferred, but remotely within Europe may be considered If working remotely within the Europe the candidate must be willing to travel Rotterdam on a regular basis
