Contract Support Officer - Band 5

I am currently working with a highly ambitious & well respected NHS CCG who are looking for an interim Contract Support Officer to join their high performing contracts team on an initial 3 month contract.

The organisation are unique in that they are looking to move away from contacting as a back office function & bring their processes & expertise to the forefront of the mechanics of the organisation. The Contracts Support Officer will be a huge factor in driving that change.

The Contracts Support Officer will be expected to manage high value, multi million pound contracts. The portfolio includes a mixture of acute, community & mental health contracts & an individual with real gravitas is required.

With it being well into the negotiation cycle, I am looking for candidates who have a background in NHS contract management & have experience of managing multiple contracts on a day to day basis.

Reporting into the Director of Contracts the duties of the Contracts Support Officer will be:
  • Assisting the contracts team in the day to day running of the team
  • Organising meetings with board members & external stakeholders
  • Taking minutes in meetings & ensuring key points are followed up
  • Liaising with colleagues to make sure performance of the contracts is at a maximum
  • Advising senior managers when you think change needs to be made & driving that change
  • Making sure the senior contracts managers have all the support they need for successful negotiations & contracts management


Requirements for the Contract Support Officer:
  • NHS experience is essential
  • Background in assisting within an NHS Contracts function
  • Experience of taking extremely highly detailed minutes & notes
  • Ability to engage with members of the team & external stakeholders
  • Reliability
  • Willingness to learn & improve the team
