Optical Engineer / Optoelectronics / Contract / 4-6 months / EdinburghI am currently recruiting an experienced Optical / Opto-electronics Engineer for a 4-6 month project with my client in Edinburgh.

Project aim:
To design and prototype a small form factor optical concentrator and filter.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, simulate, design and prototype a production quality optical concentrator and filter module optimised for size and field of view.
- Work with external partners to design an integrated module and identify suitable channels for low to medium volume production.
Essential skills and expertise:
- Optical component and system design.
- Production grade optical design software (Zemax, Synopsys, TransLENS or similar).
- Creation of engineering drawings and release for tooling and manufacturing.
- Degree or Masters in a relevant Science or Engineering subject.
Desirable skills and expertise:
- Experience in optical component fabrication.
- Mechanical design and rapid prototyping.

Rate: £30-40PH
