Description

I am currently recruiting for an interim Head of Quality for an NHS organisation based in the East Midlands,

The post will initially be for 3months with a potential opportunity to extend.

Role:

- Develop close working relationship with the Trust's Strategy and Planning Team, Operations and Performance team and General Practice Locality Teams to ensure that quality and quality assurance are embedded into the organisations business processes for commissioning and delivery of health care services.
- Support the Director of Nursing in providing professional leadership to Nurses and Allied Health Professionals (AHPS) in relation to all aspects of professional practice and with specifically assigned portfolios i.e. infection prevention and control, patient experience revolution and dignity in care and eliminating avoidable pressure ulcers.
- Develop processes for proactively assessing the risk to patient safety of new service developments and re design projects.
- Develop and sustain internal assurance systems to monitor compliance with key performance indicators for quality.
- Develop mechanisms for ensuring that all audit, quality and governance requirements are met for key areas of responsibility.
- Ensure regular reporting on all aspects of patient safety and quality working closely with the hosted patient safety team, safeguarding team, quality contract leads and locality teams to ensure that the reports meet the requirements of the Trusts Quality and Clinical Governance Committee and Board.
- Lead the delivery of discrete quality products such as quality profiles, quality dashboard and quality impact assessments.
- Support the process for assessing the quality and safety of proposed new provider organisations e.g. under the Any Qualified Provider scheme (AQP).
- Support the development of new services to ensure quality is integral all service specifications and contract management/monitoring arrangements.
- Provide Trust representation at the inter organisational serious incident processes, ensuring that action plans following clinical incidents, SCRs and SILPs are monitored until closure is achieved.
- Work with the locality and implementation managers to ensure that robust clinical governance systems and processes are in place at practice and locality level to assure quality.
- Ensure systems for communicating and embedding relevant legislation, regulations and their application to the Trust are developed and utilised.
