Description

Our client, a multinational telecommunications organisation, is searching for a Fault Management Engineer to join their service delivery department.

Fault Management Engineers Responsibilities include:

  • Taking ownership of faults that require multi party coordination to include:
    • Providing technical guidance to field engineers.
    • Coordinating end to end testing between contributing parties.
    • Ensuring that clear information is provided when trouble tickets are referred to other parties.
    • Being available to advise 3rd parties when required
  • Act as a first point of technical escalation for field engineers and service managers to include:
    • Liaising with NSN onshore and offshore teams to ensure that action plans are appropriate.
    • Escalating issues to service managers when appropriate.
    • Liaising with/assisting 2nd and 3rd line technical support when required.
  • Identifying training needs for field teams and other staff as appropriate to include:
    • Providing ad hoc training to teams to improve fault clearance times as required.
    • Provide guidance schematics to field engineers showing the different transmission topologies they could encounter.
  • Provides technical input to ad hoc reports on SLA failures

  • Provides updates to Operator Customer Care for service affecting outages

  • Participates in 24x7 escalation rota
