Description

A Renewable Offshore Energy Operator is looking for an experienced SCADA Engineer to focus on Offshore Pre-Construction projects in Hamburg. This is a contract role initially until end of the year with multiple extensions, to start as soon as possible. The SCADA Engineer will complete a 5 day working week (Monday to Friday) in the office, and then from 2017 there will be offshore rotations. The client requires the SCADA Engineer to be fluent in English & German languages.

Responsibilities
• The SCADA Engineer will act as the project expert for SCADA and instrumentation components / systems (Wind Turbine Controller, Substation Controller, HV SCADA, Communication Systems)
• Co-ordination of all work package specific tasks, external and internal. Collaboration with other departments (procurement, operations, logistics, etc.) and key stakeholder relationships (partners, regulatory authorities)
• Negotiate SCADA technologies with plant vendor and WTG supplier
• Management of consultant subcontractors
• Implementation of SCADA Strategy
• Close liaison with regional O&M Manager and local SCADA experts
• Specification & Design Review for all aspects of the "Control System" design
• Develop technical solutions that comply with IEC and other technical standards/rules - balancing costs with compliance risk.
• Develop technical specifications that deliver robust and technically compliant control systems in a multi-contract world.
• Design review of contractors' detailed design to ensure compliance with specifications and therefore delivery of robust and compliant SCADA systems.
• Undertake in-house DATA system analysis or to manage DATA system analysis contracts.

Skills

• 10+ Years of power plant construction and operations experience
• Projects and construction with working knowledge of electrical and structural with direct “hands on” experience in international work being required
• Working knowledge of industry project completion standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
• Working knowledge of practices, processes, and expectations with respect to systems completion and commissioning
• Must be able to work well within a diverse large multi-cultural site
• Must be a high initiative, high engineer, able to work well with little supervision
• Demonstrated deep knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
• Demonstrated knowledge of Primavera P6
• Previous successful construction engineering role during project management and construction execution
• German excellent and English fluent

Qualifications (will be needed from )

• Offshore medical certificate (OPITO, ENG 1, UKOAA or commercial diver or equivalent)
• Valid STCW 95 Personal Survival Training, BOSIET or equivalent.
• Working at Height certificate
• First Aid course (minimum 2 days)
• Security Awareness Training (STCW VI/6-1)
