A Commercial Officer with Contracts, Subcontract terms, Commercial Support and Proposals experience is required to work on a 6 month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence Client based in Cumbria.
This is a 6 months contract working for a UK Leading Defence Company
Overview of the Commercial Officer contract role
To provide advice and support as part of the Commercial function in all aspects of commercial/contractual related activities which include:
- Engagement with customer for approvals
- Negotiating Terms and Conditions
- Interpretation of Subcontract terms
Key skills required for the Commercial Officer contract
- Resolve customer queries and issues in areas of responsibility, escalating significant problems as appropriate.
- Control commercial contracts within their possession and maintain the customer relationship.
- Provide commercial support and guidance to other functions. Implement procedures and controls within the specified area to ensure compliance with commercial policies.
- Develop clear understandings with suppliers of both technical and commercial issues to ensure that business arrangements minimise risk.
- Draft and review complex terms and conditions to ensure that Business interests are protected.
- Negotiating and integrating suppliers' proposals for a wide variety of projects to develop and produce appropriately priced and approved proposals.
The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria, commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District
