Our client, a leading Defence company, require a Communication Systems Lead Engineer to work on the QEC. 12 month contract based in Rosyth.
*Job Description*
Act as Systems Engineer Tech Lead within QEC MS Comms Systems (HF, VHF, UHF and internal comms systems) and co-ordinate MS OR resolution.
*Industry Knowledge*
- Good understanding of the equipments and engineering processes used on Integrated Military systems.
- Desirable for RN, T45, T23 or QEC projects.
- Good understanding of communication systems (or quivilent) desirable.
- Previous experience of defect management desirable.
*Major Tasks and Activities*
- Provide technical oversight and liaison with the suppliers and the client during the modification, integration and installation of the Comms Systems to support QEC requirements.
- Produce engineering design documents and maintain the Engineering design baseline utilising DOORS, Windchill and System Architect.
- Support the successful Comms Systems implementation and integration activities on shore and ship platforms.
- Provide expertise for integration and commissioning activities, including readiness reviews, shore integration (Crawley) and platform integration on the Carriers (Rosyth). - Raise, track and implement MS ORs and ECRs/ECNs as they arise from platform, shore and suppliers.
*Key Technical Skills*
- Systems integration skills - progressive design, integration and verification of delivered subsystems including operation of shore integration facilities.
- Knowledge of Systems engineering processes and techniques, preferably in the naval comms domain
- Ability to define and review technical acceptance criteria and supplier documentation
