Essential Experience:
Evidence of financial experience, particularly in the public sector would be most relevant Assisting with production of reporting or management accounts; Reconciling statements; Balance sheet reconciling; Financial analysis which may include production of and/or analysis of monthly or quarterly reports; Investigating and resolving manager and business leader queries; Assisting manager and business leader with tasks at year end; Liaison with auditors; Supporting system changes for organisation restructure; Continuous process improvement. The successful candidate must be: Part Qualified/Currently studying for CIMA, ACCA or ACA; A strong user of Excel to include confident use of tools such as macros, pivot tables, Vlookups. Assist the Regional Senior Accountant to administer the regional budget on a day-to-day basis. This will include: Preparing regional outturn and forecast reports to ensure budget pressures/under-spends are identified early and managed appropriately; Uploading journals to the General Ledger (GL) and recording transactions via various sub-ledgers; Working with front-line leads to understand deviations from budgets; and Ensuring financial transactions are correctly accounted for under relevant International Accounting Standards (IASs);Upload regional budgets and assist in the regular BV reporting cycles ensuring that regional figures uploaded to the financial systems reconcile to approved delegations;Work with the Regional Governance and Assurance team to ensure that key financial processes are delivering sound financial information;Work with the Regional Senior Accountant to actively track and monitor in-year regional spend - ensuring these remain in-line with forecasts.Perform detailed financial analyses to understand regional cost drivers with a view to identifying and realising regional cost savings opportunities.Obtain a comprehensive understanding of regional spending trends and work with the Regional Senior Accountant to model key trends.Support the Regional Senior Accountant in liaising closely with Cluster Managers and other front-line staff within the region to ensure key financial assumptions (such as those around sitting days and workforce planning) are communicated and understood.Provide ad-hoc assistance to cluster managers and front-line staff in running and preparing relevant financial reports.Assist the Regional Senior Accountant(s) in producing the financial reporting products for the region and ensure they are delivered to customers on time.Maintain robust financial models for integrating and analysing the regional budget
