I am currently looking for a Medical Affairs Manager to join a global leader on a 12-month fixed term contract basis.

The company offers a wide range of BLOOD GLUCOSE MONITORING products to both hospitals and patients for the care of DIABETES.

JOB SUMMARY:

The MAM serves to advance the scientific credibility of the Company with established and emerging National and Regional external experts, by supporting scientific dialogue and collaborations in the areas of research, medical and scientific exchange, including facilitation of requests for scientific and medical information.

MAMs may be asked to participate in the initiation, oversight and follow-up of clinical & medical studies, ensuring that activities are carried out in accordance with relevant processes and procedures, although this will be a small part of the role initially if at all. They also interface with other key members of the UK business - for example functions such as Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Market Access and others as appropriate.

They maintain a high level of scientific knowledge to ensure credible dissemination of scientific information and informed scientific dialogue with KOL's, healthcare providers and payers.

LOCATION:

This function is typically field based, covering the UK. Typically, up to 20% of the individual's time may be spent working in the affiliate head office.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Advanced degree (e.g. PharmD., MD, PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline is preferred but candidates with an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and demonstrated experience will be considered.

Experience in developing and maintaining expert knowledge for the assigned therapeutic area, and in medical research in general Solid knowledge of the Medical Devices environment and the role of Medical Affairs to advance the medical and scientific objectives of a pharmaceutical company

Demonstrated expertise in the scientific methods applied to clinical research and current legislative/regulatory controls applicable to this research

Ability to comprehensively learn about new subject areas and environments

Ability to work independently in the field, showing a high level of motivation and the self-confidence to be the prime medical face of the organization in a given locality and disease area

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously at different locations, showing strong time management and task prioritisation skills

SALARY:

Between £55,000 and £65,000 (depending upon experience) + car allowance + 15% bonus + benefits package
