Description
The ideal candidate will come from a retail or corporate banking background and will have experience of corporate lending to SME's, as well as having a good grasp of credit risk policy and frameworks. This is a long term contract opportunity with the potential to become a permanent role, with the manager looking to interview within the next week.
Key Roles;
- Develop new and review reviewing existing framework and policies relating to collateral backed lending.
- Ensuring compliance with the Bank's Risk Policies and Risk Policy updates
- Developing an accurate and detailed reporting and MI for a portfolio
- Day to day involvement in monitoring of portfolio and reviewing cases in arrears and taking appropriate action where necessary
- Liaison between Retail Business, Risk Department and Credit Committees ensuring balance between commercial objectives and credit management. Having a good working relationship with all colleagues and external/third parties
- The candidate will act as the point of liaison/reference for contractual and commercial documentation, both internally and externally
- If required, underwrite all proposals originated in this segment and ensuring timely delivery of risk decision
- Provide training and development to other members of Risk
- Engaging with internal and external auditors
- To undertake projects and assignment from time to time as directed by Supervisor.
Key Experience;
- Strong technical credit analysis, credit support and legal knowledge with associated risk assessment and research skills
- The candidate must have a close and hands on experience in management of arrears cases
- Considerable and direct experience of credit assessment and management of a retail/property backed loan/equipment finance portfolio in the UK
- Detailed knowledge of the UK commercial and residential real estate markets
- Efficient and accurate planning and organizational skills
