My client, a leading automotive manufacturer based in Whitley, West Midlands, is looking to recruit an EMS Controls System Engineer for their Electrical division on a long term contract basis.

Pay Rate: £30.20 per hour Ltd
Position: EMS Controls System Engineer
Location: Whitley, West Midlands

Position Description:
EMS Controls Systems Engineer is required to define, calibrate and validate the engine management control systems for Gasoline powertrains across all vehicle programmes. Specifically PC based skills to plan, co-ordinate, execute and sign off testing programmes (Excel, Matlab, Simulink, INCA), Requirements capture, understanding and development and sign-off testing based on and driven by requirements are required. Advanced data analysis skills (analysis scripts and data mining) and automated test development are also part of this role, with the longer term aim to automate testing and sign off activity.

Experience Required:
Previous experience of Engine and Powertrain control systems (or similar). Demonstrate the ability to deliver automated tests and lead the development of system validation test suites. Electronic control system knowledge and experience as a minimum: would suit electronics, mechatronics or software engineer as well as mechanical systems engineer. Good communication, interpersonal skills and self confidence are personal qualities needed to succeed, being self motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.

Education Required:

Green Belt trained. Experience with EMS software specifications/mechanisations. Understanding of electronic control systems and EMS systems would be an advantage. Automated test programming.

Additional Information:
Primarily based at Whitley but must be willing to travel to other sites (Gaydon) Facility providers (Universities/Consultancies).
