Description

Role: Repair and Maintenance Technician

Location: Kent

Contract Duration: 12 Months

An opportunity has arisen to apply for the temporary contract position (12 month duration) of a repair & maintenance technician, within a Global Pharmaceutical organisation; where there is progression available.

This Role would be ideal for someone based in and around the Kent area, within commuting distance.

This team is responsible for the maintenance & repair of all pharmaceutical equipment required to produce API and clinical drugs together with building services.

You may also have the opportunity to get involved with project work and will also work closely with the Reliability & Compliance Engineers.

The ideal candidate will have a multi-skilled background, preferably with a mechanical bias complimented with electrical skills and qualifications. Mechanical fitters will also be considered for the role.

Work for this team is planned in advance using established planning techniques and all work is documented through a computerised maintenance management system. Work is conducted to current Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities
  • Complete electronic notification and/or paper documents to confirm completion of tasks
  • Respond to equipment/system breakdowns, provide first line diagnostic analysis and arrange for scheduling, components and (if necessary) resource for repair
  • Perform planned maintenance in accordance with work order instructions and associated procedures.

    • Perform installation works in accordance with regulated standards
  • Perform equipment and installation testing in accordance with scheduled, documented tasks and relevant standards
  • Make provision for safe system of work including isolations.
  • Arrange and work to Permit To Work where relevant
  • Support Third Party resources to complete contracted tasks
  • Document equipment/system modifications using relevant procedure

    • Complete regulatory documentation
    • Report equipment services or events which are out of regulatory compliance using relevant procedure
  • Communicate equipment status to Operational Personnel
  • Work to current EHS standards


Training & Education
  • The ideal candidate will have completed a recognised mechanical or electrical engineering apprenticeship & hold a nationally recognised cross-skilling qualification
  • Experience of working within Pharmaceutical Environment
  • Knowledge of GxP in Engineering Applications
  • User level computer knowledge for completing documentation and email
  • User level knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems

  • COMPEX trained
  • Experience of working within a regulated maintenance environment.
  • Experience of working within a Pharmaceutical environment.
