One of Stream Recruitments prestigious clients is looking for a Category Manager to work on Transformation and Change program.
Experience/Knowledge
- Extensive experience in a management level role across commercial and/or public sector field.
- Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of:
- The law, regulation and best practice in relation to Procurement.
- Legislative and regulatory framework surrounding procurement practice.
- The modernisation agenda and issues facing local government in general, and the procurement service in particular.
Proven experience of:
- Achieving organisational performance standards.
- Producing clear coherent plans and strategies to support the achievement of Departmental objectives.
- Successfully managing complex procurement projects within a diverse commercial market.
- Partnership working.
Proven track record of:
- Effectively managing people.
- Effective management of resource, delivering sustainable high quality services on time and to budget.
- Achieving equality of opportunity in both employment and service delivery.
Qualifications
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- A relevant professional qualification, ie MCIPS.
- Management training and/or qualification.
Desirable
- Thorough knowledge of various public and private sector procurement practices.
- Knowledge of the council's strategies and objectives.
- Experience of delivering measurable improvements to a procurement service
