Description

One of Stream Recruitments prestigious clients is looking for a Category Manager to work on Transformation and Change program.

Experience/Knowledge

  • Extensive experience in a management level role across commercial and/or public sector field.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of:
  • The law, regulation and best practice in relation to Procurement.
  • Legislative and regulatory framework surrounding procurement practice.
  • The modernisation agenda and issues facing local government in general, and the procurement service in particular.

Proven experience of:

  • Achieving organisational performance standards.
  • Producing clear coherent plans and strategies to support the achievement of Departmental objectives.
  • Successfully managing complex procurement projects within a diverse commercial market.
  • Partnership working.

Proven track record of:

  • Effectively managing people.
  • Effective management of resource, delivering sustainable high quality services on time and to budget.
  • Achieving equality of opportunity in both employment and service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • A relevant professional qualification, ie MCIPS.
  • Management training and/or qualification.

Desirable

  • Thorough knowledge of various public and private sector procurement practices.
  • Knowledge of the council's strategies and objectives.
  • Experience of delivering measurable improvements to a procurement service
