Contract Insurance/Syndicate Accountant - MS Amlin

Our Platforms

We underwrite more than 30 classes of business through three underwriting platforms: Syndicate 2001 at Lloyd's, Amlin AG, Switzerland and Amlin Europe, The Netherlands. Our underwriting teams will help assess where risks can be most effectively placed.

The Role - What Is the Background/Responsibilities?

  • This role will assist with the syndicate Finance Ops team with end to end month end close process to ensure that all scheduled tasks are completed and the close deadlines are met.
  • This will include the review and sign off of the Conformed data store (data warehouse) as well as monthly diagnostic reports and book to ledger.
  • There will be IFRS GAAP Journal entries required.
  • There will also be a review of all manual journal adjustments which include technical intercompany transactions and associated reconciliations.

What Skills and Experience is Required For This Position?

  • This position will suit an Insurance Accountant who has several years experience post qualified.
  • An understanding of accounting processes within insurance is required, as is an understanding of earnings, reserves and so on.
  • Strong experience of working with balance sheets, journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Any experience around IFRS and any knowledge of CODA Financials will be advantageous.
