Accounting Policy Lead, Transaction Support, Regulatory Assurance, New Policy Implementation and Policy Development.
Tier One Investment Bank is looking to appoint a Senior Level Contractor to work in their Accounting and Policy team as a Global Lead
Key Responsibilities- Position in the global, dynamic Accounting Policy and Assurance team
- Provide technical accounting support for US GAAP, IFRS and where applicable, Swiss GAAP
- Perform technical GAAP reviews of complex transactions
- Provide technical advice to optimize accounting treatment across all product areas
- Provide technical advice for corporate transactions (eg Business transfers, Compensation, GBSS), as well as transactions focused on capital optimization
- Transactions may be new business projects, pre-New business, M&A-structuring, FO structuring or new deals
- Participate in discussions with Divisional COOs and FO Cluster/Business Heads on these transactions
- Provide technical input to issues impacting reputational risk
- Provide technical support for new policy implementations, including
- Participation in industry working groups to drive/influence industry consensus
- Participation in internal working groups to establish policy view
- Consolidation assessments
- Provide consolidation assessments of all SPE related transactions and new entities
- Review accounting, consolidation and disclosure of entities that have been identified by the EntD team during the quarterly certification process
- Perform and sign off Ent D SOX testing on a quarterly basis
- Keep abreast of US GAAP, IFRS and where applicable, Swiss GAAP accounting developments
- Attend meetings of accounting related bodies (IASB/IFRIC/FASB) and/or support representatives on such bodies for accounting related issues
- Provide responses to comment letters and the internal policy development process
