Data Scientist - Python, Big Data, AWS CloudA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Data Scientist to work within a highly creative and enthusiastic team on interesting and challenging data projects.
The role will involve:
- Being the Product Owner and developer for 'labs' prototyping area
- Turning terabytes of data into actionable insights / platforms
- Studying user behaviour, demographics, content types, and a variety of different music streaming platforms to analyse ways to increase market share
- Creating algorithms and then prototype 'labs' for testing, handing over successful prototypes for production
- Discovering ways of using data to maximise revenue
- Supporting existing data platforms
- Combining data sources with insights
Experience needed:
- Experience of data mining tools and algorithms, machine learning and statistics (eg. regression, decision trees, neural networks, collaborative filtering, clustering, survival analysis, graph theory)
- Expert analytical abilities using SQL, Excel, R and other tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy)
- Cloud based data environments & tools (AWS, Big Query, Hadoop)
- Python and JavaScript (development)
- Jira and other project management tools
- Ability to lead data projects from inception to completion
- Effective communication skills, establish & maintain cooperative working relationships
- Creative thinking & problem solving
Ideally you will have a PhD in Computer Science, Statistics or Operations Research
