Accountant - Reporting and Process - IFRS - Banking

My client is a leading Investment Management business and we are currently looking to recruit an accountant to assist with a regulatory driven program. The role is part of a project team to support impacted companies in the implementation of IFRS reporting requirements arising from recent accounting changes, specifically IFRS 9, 15 & 16.
The role will provide support for moderately complex activities related to accounting change:
- Documenting and supporting implementation of business and accounting processes and solutions to ensure the business implements procedures that are appropriate, efficient and well-controlled (SOx compliant);
- Reviewing contracts to evidence and document support for accounting conclusions for audit pirposes; and
- Providing ad hoc support as required for a wide range of project activities.
Responsibilities
- Work with project and legal entity reporting teams to design and document operational and accounting processes to ensure compliance with new IFRS accounting standards for APAC, Americas and European entities.
- Understand the impact of accounting change, particularly with respect to IFRS 15 and IFRS 9;
- Understand production processes of statutory and to a lesser extent, regulatory, reporting deliverables
- Support project and legal entity teams in process and control design;
- Document processes and related controls to address areas of accounting change. Ensure adherence to regulatory and corporate governance policies;
- Support legal entity teams in rolling out and testing processes;
- Support process publication and transition to BAU.
Skills and Experience
- Qualified Accountant -- ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CPA Full Accreditation or with an equivalent level of experience
- Statutory reporting experience in a financial institution environment preferable
- Experience in complex processes with multiple interlinking systems
- Significant experience of accounting systems and processes, advanced user of Excel
- Organized and structured working methodology, attention to detail and highly motivated
- Experience of a fast moving, highly controlled, multi-national/functional organization
- Excellent written communication skills
