- Key Competencies
Responds to service requests and performs complex problem diagnosis and problem resolution.
Hands-on experience with various copper and fibre cabling structures, cable infrastructure design and labeling methodology.
Executes and plans the installation and/or changes of communication systems which are region specific and in some cases have a broader global reach.
Experience of increasing responsibilities within a global, multi- cultural, multi-location organization.
Interfaces with carriers and network equipment suppliers to resolve outages and plan installations.
Provides short term network capacity planning and configuration management and advises management in the region and corporate as changes/actions may be required.
Interface with the help desk operations for first level problem management support
Escalate and expedite as necessary issues, problems, or schedules which are not meeting critical deliverables for services, systems or projects within the data center(s)
Key Skills
Educated to a CCNP technical standard, with the ability to demonstrate this skill set.
Exceptional communication skills, ability to drive effective communication within the local and regional teams.
Possesses a global perspective with the ability to understand and work effectively in a culturally diverse organization.
Experience working on complex problems requiring expertise in implementation and operations
Provides technical input within the Global GNS team performing similar roles
Requires good knowledge related to TCPIP stacks and protocol, physical WAN interfaces including but not limited to MPLS, Ethernet over copper and fiber distribution methods, carrier systems, Routers and routing protocols BGP and OSPF, Cisco switching and routing platforms to include NEXUS, Juniper, Palo Alto Firewalls, along with Cisco WiFi or experience of WiFi fundamentals.
Understands criteria for latency and bandwidth and has demonstrated proven experience supporting converged networks
Desirable to have had experience supporting the network for Servers in a UNIX environment
