Prices and Curves Lead Business Analyst Prices and Curves Lead Business Analyst - LondonMy client a leading energy trader based in the city is looking for a Lead Business analyst who has experience in leading teams within the enrgy marker. The responsibilities and ESSENTIAL competencies are as follows:Key areas of responsibility · Perform Business Analysis according to prevailing delivery/support agenda. Facilitate business requirements, prototyping and product demonstration workshop sessions. Produce detailed business change documentation, accurately capture requirements and produce detailed functional specifications.· Identify, engage with, and manage key business stakeholders who would provide critical business requirements.· Work closely with Architecture to ensure that analysis deliverables (including Functional & Technical changes) are considered in line with the Target Operating Model and principles of data quality. Ensures that requirements which would violate principles contained within are escalated to the project Design Authority.· Facilitates fruitful design discussions between the Architecture and Delivery teams.· Liaise with Off-shore vendor to optimise utilisation of resources and ensure quality specifications are produced. A close working relationship will need to be maintained with the Delivery Team (developers, analysts and testers) to ensure that a consistent approach is taken and to ensure that a collaborative approach is taken when releasing production changes.· Oversee the analysis activities of the prevailing Change Control Process and for all Support and Maintenance activities and requests.· Own and coordinate the UAT and Training activities· Ensure all analysis documentation is produced to agreed delivery standards (CVP compliant) and are fully compliant with prevailing SOX controls. Manage the quality of analysis inputs to the project testing processes, continually seeking to minimise changes to specification and driving out fit for purpose processes in support of the Target Operating Model.· Own and maintain the analysis team plan. Manage day to day issues associated with successful delivery which will include prioritisation, resource constraints, change control, dependencies within the team.· Provide leadership and direction to the Prices & Curves analysis team. Actively embody and reinforce a strong team culture, providing motivation, inspiration, focus and education. · Liaise with the P&C Delivery Team Lead and provide regular (weekly) reports for all analysis activities to inform of progress against the plan and highlighting any key issues.· Provide strong cross-programme release planning co-ordination on behalf of the Delivery Team Lead as required in addition to owning the Analysis Team Plans. Delegate for the Delivery Team Lead as required.. Essential skills & competencies This role requires a well-organised, systematic individual who can pay attention to the detail as well as appreciating and shaping the big picture. Must have experience within an trading organisation, preferably within a commodity environment (ideally the Energy sector). The person must be a good communicator to a wide variety of audiences and should demonstrate the ability to adapt behaviour/style accordingly to suit the situation.Essential· Experience of data analysis, including analysis of data flows with integration layer and downstream systems· Previous experience of working in IT development projects as well as with systems in support & maintenance.· Must have worked in a global environment. Close working links will extend into the global programmes that are being delivered, such as TCT, Market Risk and Credit Risk· Must have an eye for detail and a determination to seek and maintain high standards of accuracy· Ability to adapt analysis approach depending on scale of work, from complex Remedy tickets through to large-scale Change RequestsPreferred experience required for this role includes:· Understanding of Prices and Curves applications.* Delivery under a managed service model* Understanding of the end-to-end lifecycle for physical and financial oil products* Good understanding of Business Analysis best practice including UML, Use Case definition, workshop techniques etc* Experience in oil or commodities supply and trading.Soft Skills* A confident, articulate, bright and outward-facing person with a good sense of humour.* A pro-active, energetic professional with strong communication and networking skills.* Maintains poise under pressure and weighs priorities with competing importance and urgency.* Excellent team player, used to achieving success through others.* Driven to realize results and achieving committed goals.* Sensitive to cultural differences and comfortable with diversity in the workplace.·Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.This is a fantastic opportunity with a great client.
