Description

A Global Renewable Energy client is currently looking to hire a Consultant Electrical Project Manager for their offshore wind farm project. This contract role will be for an initial 6 months starting 19th March 2018 up until the end of September 2018 with the possibility to extend further thereafter. Hours of work will normally be 8hrs a day, 5 days a week. The Consultant must expect to be travelling to the client's other offices in Europe.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Management within onshore and submarine cable supply and installation, at 220kV and 66kV, as well as all client -level planning and engineering activities related to the design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning.
  • To organise and lead the electrical project team to conduct all client-level planning and engineering activities related to the design, manufacturing surveillance, installation and commissioning.
  • Coordinate the cable package activities with the WTG, foundation and substation packages to ensure efficient resolution of technical and schedule conflicts resulting in the smooth integration of the onshore and submarine 220kV export and 66kV array cable works into the WTG foundations and onshore and offshore substations.
  • To develop and implement contingency plans in the event of unforeseen events impacting the cable work packages.
  • To support the consents, environmental and property functions in managing external stakeholders, such as the Environment Agency, Nature England, port authorities and land owners.
Qualifications of Candidate:
  • MSc in electrical engineering or similar.
  • Must be an experienced project manager as our client uses PMI/PMBOK as project management framework, a PMP certification or similar training certificate would be preferred.
  • Previous experience of working for our client would be an advantage.
  • Must have relevant work experience of leading onshore and submarine cable supply and installation teams within large infrastructure projects.
  • Must have a high level knowledge in the management of onshore and submarine cable design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning.
  • Must be able demonstrate good leadership skills, an excellent commercial understanding.
  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines so will need good organisational skills.

The Consultant must bring his/her own mobile telephone (i-Phone 4S,5C, 5S, 6 or 6+ or a Window phone 8.1 & PC with MS Office software.

The Consultant must have his/her own PPE equipment.
