Description

I have an exciting new opportunity to work for a leading investment firm based in the city. My client is looking for a strong application packager who will be responsible for packaging all applications in the Legacy desktop estate onto a secured Windows 10 platform and perform initial application and deployment testing before handing off to the User Acceptance Testing team.

Key duties:

  • Responsible for packaging all applications identified by the discovery team in alignment with the business standards
  • Ensure software is packaged to agreed standards
  • Work with the business and IT to establish packaging requirements
  • Manage the deployment of applications to a globally distributed desktop and Citrix environment
  • Adhere to testing processes and procedures for both packages and deployments
  • Provide third line application deployment support
  • Provide guidance and training to second and first line support teams
  • Provide a high level of service to the Active Directory and Unified Client projects

Key skills:

  • Experience working on previous Windows O/S migration projects
  • Microsoft Application Virtualisation (App-V) 5.1 - Sequencer and advanced troubleshooting
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) CB - Deployment management
  • Flexera AdminStudio Suite - Repackaging Applications for Windows Installer
  • Scripting languages PowerShell and VBScript
  • Client technologies: Windows 7+, Internet Explorer 11+, VMWare Workstation, Office 2010 and 365
  • Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 LTSB technologies - Application deployment and publishing
  • Microsoft Windows Group Policy Management
  • Solid understanding of UE-V 2.x and its role in environment virtualization.
