Project Procurement Specialist

Location: South West England

Duration: 6 months [initially]

EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: Sopra Steria is currently recruiting for a Project Procurement Specialist to take charge of the procurements that will enable a large scale programme of work, delivering secure access to information services for users across various locations in the UK and overseas, providing a configurable network that has a single sign-on.

This is working for a key Defence sector client on an initial six month contract, with the option to extend for at least another six beyond that.

On client's instructions, due to the urgency, nature and length of the assignment, the successful candidate must have current security clearance to a high level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Manage the procurement competitions of all current and future hardware procurements
  • Management of commercials; CP&F requisition/purchasing, BOM creation, ITT requirements specification, internal/external commercial engagement, Crown Commercial Service management and Crown Servant approval management.
  • Management of financials; BOM cost modelling, Commitment Case management, Spend management System (SMS) management; Request for Approval management and Crown Servant approval management.
  • Individual node Product Manager; initiate and sponsor the delivery of the Individual node through System requirements, hardware system design, hardware specification, hardware and license procurement, 1st of type build through to volume roll out.
  • Internal Stakeholder Management: Work with all Programme internal stakeholders such as the Programme Leadership and Engineering Teams, as well as the Programmes Security, Safety and Logistic POCs, ensuring comprehensive stakeholder engagement.
  • External Stakeholder Management: Management and liaison with the programmes external stakeholders.
  • Management of suppliers; market awareness activities, manage requests for Information, on-site/off-site supplier engagement, procurement liaison, hardware/service delivery and problem resolution.

ESSENTIALS SKILLS:

  • IT Project Leadership and Management
  • High Value IT Procurement Management
  • Defence Commercial & Procurement Processes and Procedures
  • Defence IT Product Management
  • EPM/MSP Planning and RAIDO Reporting

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Programme & Project Delivery experience within Waterfall and Agile Scrum frameworks
  • Managing Successful Programmes (MSP)/Prince 2
  • CP&F, ASPECT, EPM and ARM
