Head of Business Development/Business Development Manager

6 Month Contract - London with travel

£700 - £780

Due to the nature of the projects valid SC Clearance is required.

Head of Business Development/Business Development Manager

  • Design and Implement the Sales & Account Management Strategy for major accounts in the organisation to ensuring the projected revenue of £130M is secured
  • Ensure account plans for Major Accounts and the Regional Services Centres are designed and delivered, resulting in a measurable increase in Customer satisfaction at strategic level.
  • Design & Implement the Business Development Strategy to create a qualified pipeline of £150M for new business and lead the new business sales team to deliver their financial and none financial targets
  • Create strategic plan based on evidence to forecast and plan for any gaps or barriers in achieving the annual revenue target of £200M
  • Ensure that the Sales and Account Management team is appropriately resourced to provide effective support on new opportunities up to the Bid Stage, ensuring a competent bid is submitted and handling negotiation with the client where necessary.
  • Ensure all the required processed and approval are met for delivery of the required objectives
  • Assist in Customer Relationship Management tool (CRM) developing and implementing new processes, training and compliance regime to meet strategic organisational needs
  • Ensure the implementation of the Commercial Process; review and refresh the processes to remain current with business practices and organisational requirements
  • Ensure that the Sales and Account Management team is appropriately resourced to support relevant commercial team and marketing team managers; monitor performance, standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure forecasting of sales by service line is maintained and accurate to enable effective business planning at a strategic level.
  • Provide sales input to the Corporate Plan, strategic input into revenue growth plans and projections, identifying risks and assumptions
  • Provide key MI to all relevant stakeholders
  • Provide Sales and Account Management lead on strategic opportunities, responsible for Senior Leadership and Customer Engagement at Account Manager
  • Coordinate resources to aid customer complaint resolution.
  • Ensure actions resulting from customer experience MI are included in the key account plans.
  • Ensure an collaborative relationship management with the Operational Department to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of Strategic Account Management across the organisation at all levels. Influencing Delivery Directors to ensure continued business growth in line with Strategic Direction
  • Professionally develop the New Business Sales Team, bringing in best practice from the field
  • Manage the professional development of direct reports and any other support staff assigned to the team, setting objectives and managing performance and career progression
  • Keep abreast of current developments in own area of expertise and seek ways to apply knowledge in the development of new initiatives; take initiative to plan and maintain professional skills development
