location: West Palm Beach, FL

Contract - 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Job Description:

Position Overview:

This position requires certification to operate locomotives in single or in multiple vehicle configurations with or without coaches coupled in consist within the confines of the defined limits of the mechanical facility. The TSE will operate Brightline trains within the West Palm Beach Running Repair Facility yard as required by the operations team. You will be required to adhere to all applicable rules and regulations as mandated by the FRA Part 240 & 242/AAR regulating bodies.

Responsibilities (Includes but not limited to all of the following):

Perform all train movements between tracks one through four at the WPB location - Phase one.
Be able to interpret train move orders, signals, operating rules, and regulations that govern the operation of locomotives and train sets.
Receive starting signals and move controls such as throttles and air brakes to drive diesel- electric locomotives.
Ability to perform all required system Air Brake System and Positive Train Control (PTC) tests.
Must understand and totally comply with the company's uniform and grooming standards when engaged in performing passenger service.

Perform additional duties as needed including:

Adding Diesel Fuel to locomotives, Adding Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) to locomotives, Adding sand to aid in traction adherence to locomotives, Adding fresh water to locomotives and coaches, Remove waste water from locomotives and coaches
Follow all maintenance instructions (wherever available) to adhere to and maintain compliance and high quality standards.
Responsible for keeping Workstation and work areas clean and free of debris at all times.
Must be able to perform all other functions as needed including forklift operation, daily cleaning operations, and other as needed.
Develop a working relationship with the Customer as an employee and representative of Siemens Mobility.
Verify that all defects, tasks, and/or incidents have been reported and documented in (CMMS) for compliance, issue tracking, and closure.
Record and document all of your work via the Computer Maintenance Management System.
Maintain compliance to all Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) related safety rules, laws, and regulations.
Ensure highest quality standards are met in accordance with Siemens Rail Standards.
Foster a work environment that drives a safety first zero harm culture (ZHC) and speak up when necessary as a stakeholder for shop and site safety for yourself and your co-workers.
Work with the local leadership to create and implement a learning plan and training solutions to develop internal talent and enhance capability within the hourly workforce.
Act as a mentor to provide on-the-job training as required.
Actively participate in our continuous improvement program and drive employee involvement.
Report 100% of all safety related incidents and/or chemical spills/EHS incidents to your Maintenance Manager.
Interact with the leadership as needed on all site issues, systems, and related facility operations
Must participate in hours of service and random drug and alcohol testing program. Must be in Workstation daily at start of shift and adhere to all scheduled break and lunch times.
Must comply with all personal time off (PTO) guidelines and policies

Essential Skills/Experiences:

  • Required experience: 3-5 years of working experience with a railroad or other technical agency.
  • Prior experience as certified Conductor or Engineer is desired (CFR Certified).
  • Electrical or mechanical or equivalent work experience is desired.
  • Detailed knowledge of technical aspects of the rolling stock/depot. Prior experience with FRA is desired.
  • You may be required to work the off shift in this position.
  • Must be willing to relocate to Orlando Florida (Phase Two).
  • Required travel - 10%
