A renewable power generation facility is currently under construction in Hull
The new power plant will be fuelled by processed waste wood and will generate 10Mw of green electrical power via a gasification boiler process utilising a steam turbine.
The key role of this project is that of Site Manager during the Construction phase. Principal Designers and Principal Contractors for the installation have been appointed there a unique opportunity for the right person to be involved throughout the construction and commissioning phases to act as site representative of the Owner's Engineer (PCML). The Site Manager will be responsibly discharging the obligations of the Owner in order to ensure a smooth and efficient transition into commercial operations.
Responsibilities
During the construction phase the key responsibilities will be to act as the owner's representative on site and liaise with the construction teams to ensure that the plant is being constructed in a safe and timely manner to ensure sustained operability and performance.
During the commissioning phase the Site Manager will be responsible coordination of the various activities that fall outside of the Main Contractor including the management of the fuel deliveries and waste disposal in conjunction with the fuel supply contractor.
You will ensure that the plant is maintained by the Contractor in a clean, tidy manner and that it complies with all EA and HSE requirements and that emissions parameters are met at all times.
Reporting lines will be to a senior PCML Manager, with functional links to the Technical Manager.
Qualifications/Skills
An engineering background with construction/commissioning experience in steam power generation or similar processes is desirable and candidates with a technical and engineering background in a relevant process industry will be considered.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, have the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and to manage and motivate Contractors to deliver in accordance with their contracts.
They should also be IT literate with the ability to analyse and use spreadsheets as required.
