Our reputable public sector organisation has a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Specialist to join their team based in Dundee to help them re-shape the department and adopt new IT Systems.
You will facilitate the procurement of new IT Systems whilst reviewing the departments current structure and reshaping this where appropriate.
What will you be responsible for?
* Devising and developing an appropriate procurement strategy for the department.
* Providing effective, timely procurement advice and sound professional judgement to colleagues on the resolution of complex procurement issues ensuring there is a sound justification for the procurement route taken.
* Assuring compliance with the organisations policies and procedures throughout and award and manage contracts of varying size and complexity.
What experience and skills do you need to have to carry out this role successfully?
* A good up to date knowledge of contract law and EU Procurement Directive
* Proven IT Systems procurement experience
* Experience working in complex Change environments
* Be IT literate and competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite and spreadsheets
* Have excellent interpersonal skills, including strong persuasive and negotiating skills and excellent analytical, written and verbal communications skills
* An understanding of the Scottish Model of Procurement and issues relating to procurement, environmental awareness, sustainability, diversity and equality
