Description

My client, a specialist insurance focused consultancy is seeking a strong Project Manager to work on site for their exciting end client within the Insurance industry.

Reinsurance experience is essential for this position.

There will be occasional travel to Paris, France for this position.

Objectives

  • Working with the PMO and Workstream Lead(s) to develop and implement consistent project plans, documentation, governance and feed individual as well as consolidated reporting structures across the Program.
  • Actively manage the Project to ensure it delivers to the agreed plan on time and on budget.
  • Actively manage resource allocation needed to support the Project, escalating as necessary to the Program where conflicts arise.
  • Actively manage the Project Critical Path and any key Program milestones/dependencies.
  • Ensuring that the Program administration structures are adhered to ensure efficient and comprehensive project & program management and oversight, with minimum negative impact on project team's focus on delivery.
  • Designing and managing a clear and efficient schedule/calendar of regular reporting and governance meetings appropriate to support Project delivery and aligned to the wider Program as appropriate.
  • Ensure Project Plans are set up in line with Business Case & approved budgets and are fully aligned to the wider Program.
  • Working with the PMO Team to ensure updates are accurately reflected on the Project Plans, maintaining the plans, tracking actuals versus expected - budgets, resources and deliverables, and ensuring escalations are happening in line with agreed protocols.
  • Actively manage risks & issues, escalating as appropriate and ensure that RAID logs are kept up to date.
  • Ensure that project documentation is appropriately filed and organised within the Program/Project Library.
  • Producing clear communications and updates to project teams and wider Program.
  • Supporting Project & Program review meetings - scheduling, agenda, status updates, taking minutes and actions, following up, logging and tracking.
  • Supporting Project and Program governance meetings and reporting demands - to central PMO, Division & Group oversight, senior stakeholder meetings, steering committees etc.
  • Producing high quality, succinct reporting for the Project.

Required Experience

  • Min 5 years' direct experience in a Test Lead role runni
  • Experience with international organisations, and multi-locational/virtual teams & stakeholders desired.
  • Experience dealing with external delivery partners/outsourcers as part of multi-disciplinary project/program teams desired.
  • Experience working in a Project orientated and disciplined environment and the ability to bring this discipline, framework and methodology and manage effectively in a Non-Project orientated organisation desirable.
  • PMI, Prince II or other PM related qualifications.
  • Experience working with project management and project reporting tools, including Microsoft Project, PlanView, other.
  • Experience working in a Waterfall Software Development life cycle (SDLC) and also in an Agile Environment a benefit
  • Knowledge of EVM or other project budget management techniques
  • Experience in Resource Management, Schedule Management and Critical Path Management.
  • Risk & Issue Management, Mitigation and Resolution
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry, particularly (Re)Insurance (a bonus)
  • Experience on SII, IFRS or other Finance or Actuarial projects (a bonus)
  • Experience of Change Management, a benefit but not necessary
  • Experience in Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint
