Description
Oracle DBA consultant required for a an assignment as Oracle DB Admin.
Role:
To review and improve the current Oracle deployment setup, ie installation, upgrade, patching and backup/recovery. The objective is to reach a setup with a stable production environment, solid redundancy and where the Oracle installations are kept up-to-date. Part of the work is also to monitor system status and respond to alerts, and to do performance tuning and troubleshooting.
The Oracle databases are connected to Windows environments; knowledge in Windows Servers is an advatage. The Oracle databases will live side by side with some MS SQL Server installations, and some applications will be ported from Oracle to MS SQL. Experience from similar migration is beneficial.
The duration of the assignment is estimated to be between 6-9 months.
Required competence
- Degree in Computer Science or similar. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Ideally 5+ years of experience with Oracle databases
- Experience from work with Oracle DB deployment - installation, upgrade, patching and backup/recovery
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize your own work. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated, good communication and networking skills.
Wanted competence
- Experience from Oracle Performance Tuning
- Experience from migration from Oracle to MS SQL Server is highly meriting
- Experience from system administration in Windows domain
- Experience from cloud infrastructure and SaaS
