PHP Developer (with PL/SQL skills an advantage)
Purpose of Role:
A senior PHP Developer with Symfony is required, for a project to enhance an application
Approx 6 or 7 months contract until June 30th 2019. Based in Dublin City Centre
Duties and Responsibilities:
- This role is responsible for an application Front End development in PHP.
- The candidate is required to quickly learn the business use of the application, and all functional and technical aspects of the application.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Capable of working in a standalone manner on development, with minimal assistance.
- Ensure compliance with development standards and frameworks of company
- As the Back End is in oracle, experience of working with data models and PL/SQL integration on Server Side, is an advantage. At minimum an understanding of integrating PHP Front End, with oracle PL/SQL on the Back End, is required.
- Sophisticated PHP screens on the Front End to manage data exceptions from the Back End loads, move data, update static data, manage anomalies, manage roles and permissions etc. have to be implemented during the project.
- Requirement to write technical specifications and support documentation.
- Participation in the resolution of production problems.
- Work to tight deadlines to deliver on projects and business deadlines.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Degree educated in an IT discipline.
- Must have minimum 5 years of hands on experience, of developing Front End applications in PHP
- Strong relational database skills.
- Some knowledge PL/SQL highly desirable
- Korn Scripting experience is also helpful
- Knowledge of integration with Siebel CRM an advantage.
- Demonstrate experience of or willingness to, work in an agile development team using Jira.
- Solid understanding of OO concepts (classes, objects, interfaces, inheritance, encapsulation, polymorphism).

- Ability to react quickly to new demands in a dynamic business environment.
- A knowledge of finance, and more specifically experience in the Asset Management industry is desirable. Otherwise the candidate should demonstrate an ability to quickly understand a new business context.
- As this role interacts with business analysts, business and project team members, an interest in the business focus of the project, and a sense of service are essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. French is an advantage.
- Sound analytical skills.
- Knowledge of versioning tools, including implementing and migrating code there, as source code management is a requirement for this application
