Python Developer:
We are looking for a talented senior developer to work in the Market Risk Technology team within the Global Markets environment. The successful candidate will work closely with our business partners to define requirements, develop, implement and support key system applications.
The developer would be working as part of the Market Risk Data team, building out data sourcing applications. This would involve working on high performance Server Side components and dealing with very large volumes of data. Day to day this would involve working as a member of a global team and working with both the sources and consumers of this data.
The developer would typically have applicable experience and should be interested in building a career within one of the most interesting parts of one of the world's largest banks.
The role requires the developer to work with business users across several lines of business and therefore must possess strong communication skills and be adaptable. Different lines of business will have different requirements, processes and interactions.
This exciting role, based in our Dublin office, is well suited to strong developers with a keen interest in new technologies and investment banking. The candidate will work in the Market Risk Technology team and will be contributing to some of the most significant risk projects in the organisation in a highly agile environment. The successful candidate will work in a global team with colleagues in Ireland, the UK, India and the US. It offers opportunities to learn about technologies used in banking as well as ongoing training and the opportunity to work with and learn from technologists who are experienced in delivering successful enterprise scale solutions. It also provides an exposure to Investment Banking and in particular Market Risk.
As Senior Python Developer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Skills:
- Strong database development experience (relational and distributed), preferably with Oracle/SQL Server/Netezza experience.
- Experience in at least one OO programming language (Python, C#, C++, Java) and design patterns. Python experience would be highly advantageous.
- Strong user interaction and problem analysis skills.
Experience:
- Experience in developing high performance Server Side applications dealing with very large volumes of data.
- Server Side development experience
- Extensive database development experience
- Experience with different SDLCs - Agile/Scrum, Waterfall etc.
- Previous experience in banking/finance sector an advantage, but not essential
- Experience/Understanding of Market Risk and Value at Risk an advantage, but not essential
- Experience working directly with business users to define requirements and build out new features
