We are looking urgently for one "Tableau Desktop/Server Administrator" to start from ASAP a 2-month contract (initial, as kind of probation, extensions possible) for an international Org'-client in Rome, with possibility of extension based on performance and budget availability.

The consultant will provide support services to our clients' enterprise deployment of Tableau for an initial two-month period for evaluation purposes with the option to extend.
Background
The role oversees creating and maintaining the framework that enables Tableau Desktop users in the organization to publish, share, manage, and connect to data sources and workbooks on Tableau Server. Major duties include server upgrades, backups, patching, performance tuning, security and administration of the application, adhering to client's data governance policies and guidelines.
The preferred candidate should be well-versed in the features and configuration of Tableau products, and up to date on the latest updates to the product suite that Tableau rolls out in both beta and final versions to its global commercial and non-profit clients.
SKILLS
- 4-6 years of experience working with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
- 4-6 years of experience with SQL and PL/SQL.
- Experience working with advanced charts like Donut Chart, Funnel Graph, Waterfall Chart, Histograms and Polygon charts.
- Experience working with various data sources like Postgres, Hadoop, Amazon S3, SAP BusinessObjects, Oracle, SQL Server, SharePoint.
- Tableau Certifications in Desktop and Server would be an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Solid technical understanding of data management & ETL.
- Bachelors degree required, advanced degree a plus.
TASKS
Tableau Server:
- Technical oversight of Tableau Server infrastructure from user setup to performance tuning in a high availability environment (ie Security, Clustering, Load Balancing, User Management etc.)
- Configuration, patching, and upgrading of the Tableau server and Desktop across the environments based on release schedules.
- Work in collaboration with the business user groups, security team and data protection team to set up configuration settings including user/group setup, permissions, security roles, the configuration of trusted ticket authentication.
- Active Directory synchronization maintenance within Tableau Servers.
- Troubleshoot and triage incident management on all server issues.
- Responsible for handling support tickets and providing response and/or resolution within defined SLA.
- Support for Tableau migration and scheduling, backups, and restoration of Tableau repository
- Develop a close working relationship with the TEC Data Program team and other technology colleagues to ensure excellent maintenance, upgrades and integration with other technology products (eg, client corporate data lake, API manager, etc.).
Tableau Site and Data Administration
- Design and implementation of Tableau Server data extracts from various sources.
- Management of the application's users, and their access to groups, projects, workbooks, data sources, along with the integration with client staff directory.
- Responsible for handling Site and Data issue support tickets and providing response and/or resolution within defined SLA.
- Implement client's data governance process that meets information security and data privacy and protection requirements - this includes ensuring private data controls are in place for server prod, qa, and caching environments.
- Implement and maintain custom administrative views.
- Troubleshoot the reporting database environment and reports.
- Design and develop ETL loads in SSIS for custom solutions as needed.
- Document design and development efforts and maintain versioning for code scripts as needed.
Monitoring and Performance
- Implement and support network load tracking system using Tableau Server dashboard.
- Performance tuning of workbooks, data sources and providing best practices for the user community.
- Develop a set of performance metrics to monitor the success of Tableau Server/Desktop and provide insights to help drive improvements for client.
Desktop/Training Support
- Tableau Desktop Licensing Administration for new and existing users.
- Responsible for handing training request tickets - this involves coordinating Tableau Fundamentals training requests with external partner and the PO process with procurement.
