Scrum Master

Role

The domain IT Digital has 3 main development activities: web, mobile and integration.
We are looking for a Scrum master to improve the Agile/Scrum way of working in the team and support the team for the delivery of the sprint goals.

The Scrum Master will work closely with:

  • The Release Train Engineer who manages the Digital Release train and the Intake process with the business for as well the web, mobile as integration development activities
  • The Domain Manager to drive the change within the Digital domain

Experience required

  • Good knowledge of Dutch or French, and English
  • Scrum Master certification
  • Experience as Scrum Master for at least two years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
  • Very good knowledge of JIRA to set up or update workflows, create boards,
  • Good experience to work in a scaled Agile environment
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
  • Be a good change driver and mentor for the team
  • Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: Burndown technologies, Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)

Agile

  • Guiding the team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values
  • Guiding the team on how to get the most out of self-organization and being owner of the work they accept
  • Guiding the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.
  • Assessing the Scrum maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
  • Delivery
  • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
  • Facilitating getting the work done without pressure, assigning, or dictating the work.
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
  • Supporting and educating the stakeholders of the team (business product owner, intake lead, architect, ), especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example.

Preferred Skills/Experience (Any of these is a plus)

  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: SAFe, Kanban,
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team:
  • Web developments
  • Mobile developments
  • ESB IIB integration team
  • Likes to work within a changing environment
  • Excellent communication
