Description
Our current needs focus around a qualified individual that has a strong understanding of all aspects of data work related to ETL, T-SQL, Windows/INTEL and Microsoft SQL Server technologies. This person will participate in the planning, coordination and development and post implementation support of integration processes between SQL and various software platforms and applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Document and review technical core infrastructure and software required for initial and subsequent implementation of technology components for Prototype solution.
- Collaborate on a daily basis with other IT teams to deliver on required components;
- Perform hardware reviews and make recommendations;
- Architect and assist in deployment of required MS-SQL infrastructure to support prototyping work
- Architect data structures (ie database models, databases, file structures) and frameworks
- Hands-on development with SSIS, tables, and SQL and reporting (generation, modification, and maintenance) that adhere to a modular design and limit code dependencies. (Code has to be clean, well-documented and built on a good infrastructure).
- The work will be almost all SQL development, with about 10% of the time doing DBA type tasks.
- Test and deploy functional projects/improvements
- Work with other team members on day-to-day application and database improvement
- Work with internal team for platform setup, maintenance and integration with SAP Data Services (ETL)
- Write documentation of current and future configurations, processes and procedures.
- Utilize web services to integrate with internal applications
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Participate in meetings to represent work group perspective and share information;
- Maintains responsibility in assisting with Software deployment and licensing;
- Responsible for all data collected and related to technology components (infrastructure, software, database, network rules, etc )
- Provide technical advice for Regional target state design past Prototype;
- Provides assistance in reviewing performance and capacity requests as well as design solution resolution;
- Provide system support and troubleshooting expertise as needed for designed solutions;
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5-10+ years MS-SQL experience including ETL, T-SQL, MS-SQL (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
- 5-10+ experience in designing and implementing Client Server and web-based solutions on VMware based virtualization technology,
- Experience with MS-SQL DBA tasks.
- Experience interfacing with SQL databases, database scheme design, and data modelling is an asset
- Understanding and/or knowledge of various networking systems and concepts including email, Firewall, clients, Servers, network security, network protocols (TCP/IP), hubs, Switches, virtual serversetc.
