Manager Notes:
- Upgrading old windows systems
- Adding new OS, imaging, upgrading applications
- Must have experience with web-based applications
- Be able to collaborate with different teams to diagnose an issue or problem-help figure out which team the problem is on
- Must have strong troubleshooting skills
- Must be able to ramp up quickly
- They have Windows 2003, 2008, 2012 and 2016
- Upgrading the Windows 2
- Deploying images
- Troubleshoot with the developers
- Install the applications-figure out which ones aren't compatible or not working correctly and tweak them
- Is it an OS or an application issue-where is the problem and then know how to resolve the issue
- If they come from an IS or Web applications type company or SAAS they will be a good fit-If they have worked with a company that provides online software to clients that is helpful
- Must have knowledge of VMware-know how to convert a physical server to a virtual server
Required Experience:
- Strong MS Windows Skills;
- Experience working with Dev teams to install, configure, upgrade and troubleshoot web- based applications (.Net, IIS);
- Good troubleshooting skills;
- VMWare experience;
- experience upgrading OS and apps from older versions of Windows (Win2K3, Win2K and above);
- Experience P2Ving Servers
- This hire would be assigned to a project to reduce technical debt.
- This would include upgrading older operating systems.
- Virtualizing physical Servers. Upgrading systems from older OS (Win2k, 2k3, 2k8) to newer versions of Windows (Win2k12 and 2k16).
- This will require collaboration with Dev teams to help migrate applications.
