THE ROLE OF THE MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER:
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a manufacturing group who supply into the European market. This will initially be a 3-6 month contract with the possibility of further extension.
Reporting to the Design Engineering Manager you will focus on design delivery in a fast paced, client-driven environment.
You will be required to provide deliverables for the purpose of evaluating design alternatives, cost estimation and establishing manufacturing routes whilst acting as a focal point for Mechanical technical matters on specific projects
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform data analysis and present modification & upgrade programs through quick and accurate engineering analyses (FEA, hand calculations etc.)
- Produce and check Mechanical engineering documentation deliverables
- Ensure all deliverables are verified and validated in accordance with all relevant Company policies and regulatory requirements
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- HND in an Engineering discipline or equivalent
- Experience in a similar engineering position
- Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software to produce Engineering designs and drawings to relevant standards
- Understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles including supporting calculations
- An understanding of the requirements of Design for Manufacture, Assembly and Maintenance
- Have an understanding of common place industry materials and their application
