Supplier Quality Engineer
In this role, the Supplier Quality Engineer driving cross-functional ownership of Quality, Simplification and Process Improvements. As a SQE you will support execution of mfg. process as well as the overall Quality Management System (QMS) for the Site Supply Chain organization including a face to the customer, building credibility and confidence in their Quality processes.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Supplier Approval/Re-approval
SRG/EHS audit completion & re-audits per risk assessment frequency
SRG audit finding closure NEW supplier (s) risk assessment/commodity audits
Supplier Qualification (Parts/process/product)
On time part/product qualification (MPP/PQP/QCP/Etc) in eSMS/company portal (Conduct First Article inspection)
Disqualify suppliers/parts -
Supplier Performance management
Surveillance audit program .critical supplier list maintenance and audit program sustainability
RCA/CI activity for top issues
Close audit findings
Supplier deviation (SDR) approval and management with supplier and GE teams
Supplier KPI performance monitoring and follow up (PPM/CAR's/RCA) sense of urgency!
NCR management (follow up and closure) with supplier & reporting to EC HQ Team
Recovery of COF (non transactional or material replacement
Monthly Supplier performance monitoring
CIR closure & COF (Tough Cases) monitoring and recovery process partnership with sourcing team
Other Responsibilities:
*Focal point for assigned parts and suppliers
*Ensure supplier execution of manufacturing process plan
*Liaison between supplier and engineering team
*Schedule management
*Lead/mentor functional quality team members ensure alignment around Big Y's
*Constantly seek, share, and implement best practices
*Job requires 80% travel.
Qualifications/Requirements:
*Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college
*Strong understanding of different manufacturing processes, Casting, Machining, Forgings, Fabrication, welding
*Strong commodity knowledge with Project Management skills
*Able to perform manufacturing feasibility study, part risk assessment.
*Able to optimize manufacturing process, develop new concepts for continuous improvement.
*At least 4 years' experience
*Experience with a Quality Management system ISO etc
*Proven track record in implementing change
