The Role
Managing media, social media, internal communications and marketing, this Team Leader role is an exciting opportunity to make a difference for people. Managing a team of four, the post-holder will deliver an effective communications service, promoting the reputation of the organisation and achieving measurable outcomes for a range of campaigns. Providing communications support and guidance to services, maintaining good relations with media, publics and partners, and supplying out of hours cover when required, no two days are the same in this varied role.
Essential:
. Qualification in PR, marketing, communications or journalism.
. Management experience.
. Membership of a relevant professional body preferred.
Desirable:
. We are looking for a proactive and innovative team player who can hit the ground running in this fast-paced role.
. Experience of managing a small team is preferable, but more important is a can-do attitude and an aptitude for new media, learning, and data-driven communications.
. If you are familiar with using research and evaluation to improve communications, working with a range of people including politicians, and balancing operational and strategic work, then we want to hear from you.
. Some knowledge of local government or a related public service is necessary, and experience of events promotion would be an advantage.
