Principal BSS Architect

The Solution Management Group is the product management and enterprise architecture function within the customer. Our responsibilities lie predominantly in the overall solutions management of product architecture, product innovation, product roadmaps and product feature requests that come from every part of the business. We are a conduit between a number of departments- Product Marketing, Sales, Technical Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Professional Services & Support.
The Digital Business Platform members are required to define and own the architecture for the Digital Business Platform solution. They also need to outline the DBP Business and Technical value to our internal stakeholders, our customers and within Service Provider ecosystems and work on internal and external facing solutions collateral.

ROLE SUMMARY

A Charging Principal Architect will own the overall architecture of the pre-build Policy and charging product that is part of the DBP. The Principal Architect will be responsible for continually enhancing our PCC Prebuild solutions based on and in conjunction with the strategy outlined by our Product Strategists and Solution Management Leadership Team.

The Principal Architect will work closely with all our partners ecosystem, to define, maintain and enhance our PCC solution to support the end to end functionality for our DBP.

The Principal Architect takes input from our internal stakeholders, our customers & market research to create and manage the architectural blueprint for new and innovative user journeys and positions this along with other key stakeholders to the market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide knowledge and thought leadership in the domain, including:

  • Understanding the technologies involved in the delivery of telecommunications services (voice, high speed data, wireless, video, etc) and how they relate to the products.
  • Transferring this domain and product knowledge both internally to the team members and other departments and externally to our customers.
  • Works closely with other technical partners to define, develop, test and maintain integration points with partner solutions into our own products.
  • Architecture workshops to outline end to end architectures with partner solutions
  • Definition of APIs to support partner solution integration
  • Lead team to develop on proposed end to end partner solutions
  • Support any troubleshooting and testing required
  • Produces requirements, functional and design specifications in the course of implementing solutions. Oversees the technical design and technical implementation, guides and supports the engineering staff during the project.
  • Adopts an innovative and committed approach to overcoming obstacles and solving problems in order to successfully deliver on commitments.
  • Has an excellent oral and written communication skill for effective dialogue with customer representatives and with colleagues in Services and other Departments.
  • Interfaces with the HR Manager regarding sourcing and interviewing staff
  • Able to represent the Client at customer meetings, presentations and conferences
  • Consults into multiple projects on architecture, design and software engineering best practice.
  • Displays a strong interest in telecommunications technology, the software engineering discipline and all products.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

Technical

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Policy and Charging Solutions including Unified Product Catalogue,
  • Comprehensive knowledge of provisioning, charging, policy rules engine across multiple services including voice, data, SMS, mms, wifi, content, TV, MBB.
  • Experience in PCC Solution Architecture, Deployment and Integration.
  • Creation and Management of product backlogs
  • Produces requirements, functional and design specifications in the course of implementing solutions. Oversees the technical design and technical implementation, guides and supports the engineering staff during the project.
  • Ability to create and present business cases for investment board.
  • Ability to research technical evolutions and how these can be applied to our solutions.

  • TMForum Certified an advantage
  • Core Network Domain Knowledge an advantage
