ETL Developer / Analyst:Main Purpose of the Role :
A Senior Developer, responsible for development of database applications. To assist in the delivery of projects that primarily uses Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of database applications.
• Support team in delivering accurate, high quality, cost-effective, and user-friendly end-user modules for a database application in a timely fashion.
• Provide support to existing application modules to ensure that the current functionalities run properly.
• Perform quality testing of changes to ensure they function correctly and match pre-determined test results in advance of user acceptance.
• Interact with customers to provide ad-hoc training, problem solving, and debugging.
• Can write SQL/ T-SQL procedures, and packages for applications.
• Ensure all solutions delivered as part of any project or code changes are accompanied by adequate documentation and that progress and project status is reported timely to the project managers and the team.
• Provide ad-hoc project and non-project tasks and responsibilities as required.
Skills and Experience:
Functional / Technical Competencies:
• Excellent understanding of Banking / Financial IT and its associated data flows; Available to work overtime when required
• Candidate requires good self-discipline. Patient, logical and works well under pressure.
• Integration with other technologies, ETL technologies such as SSIS (Preferred)
• In-depth SQL knowledge to enhance and develop the data architecture required to support SQL Server or Oracle based applications and data warehouse environments essential.
• Fluent written and spoken English essential.
• Good analytical skills.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written, and can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
• Ability to work efficiently either as part of a team or individually in a fast paced environment.
• Adaptable and flexible to changing priorities.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and urgency to deliver projects/tasks in a timely fashion.
Work Experience
• Previous experience in developing Database ETL solutions on 3rd Party databases and OLTP systems; Thorough experience in developing SQL Server and SSIS based solutions (Essential). Experience in data warehouse development including data modelling and design (Essential). Experience in developing in controlled and standardized environments; Worked in project teams with Project Managers, Business Analysts and other developers; Experienced full software development life cycle. (Essential)
• Worked in Financial Institutions; Worked on project for middle and back office areas; Followed Waterfall development practices; Followed Agile development practices (Preferred).
