Role holder should have extensive knowledge of a number of these topics (not necessarily all of them) with significant practical experience in applying them.
. Legislation relating to nuclear, radiological, industrial and environmental safety.
. Nuclear regulatory framework - the role of ONR, DNSR and EA
. Nuclear site licence and/or MoD Authorisation and related Licence/Authorisation Conditions
. Purpose and regulatory use of primary and derived powers as well as flexible permissioning (eg hold point control)
. Purpose and content of a Quality Management System
. Purpose and content of a nuclear safety case
. Purpose and use of a framework for Operating Experience Feedback (OEF) or Learning From Experience (LFE)
. Investigation techniques, including Root Cause Analysis
. Inspection and/or Audit techniques
Additional Information
Desirable:
. Communications, written and verbal - role holder should be confidently able to communicate at all levels of an organisation from Directors to Shop Floor.
. Influencing skills - role holder should be able to adjust communications style to influence change
. Analytical, logical thinking - role holder should be able to analyse the business' nuclear safety performance and make appropriate, evidence-based conclusions.
. Courage and Integrity - role holder should be able to stand behind their conclusions/findings where nuclear safety could be affected.
