Intelligent Resource is working in partnership with a major public sector client in the UK. We are currently recruiting a "Strategy Manager/International Engagement Officer" role for 3 months contract initially based in Kew.
Minimum Requirement:
The post holder will connect with key international stakeholders to expand Kew's reach and help shift the external perceptions of the organization, and will advise the Head, Director, Executive Board and senior managers on priority countries and international policy work that can further the understanding of how plants and fungi contribute to solving some of the most critical challenges facing humanity today.
To achieve success under the External Affairs Strategy, the International Engagement Manager's primary focus and priorities will be aimed 'beyond the garden walls'. Drawing on their expertise, the post-holder will determine the types of internationally-focused activities that are supportive of Kew's mission and objectives on a global scale. One of their primary roles will be horizon-scanning and identifying policy positions of stakeholder organizations and using these with senior colleagues to inform Kew's international work. The post holder will support Kew's work to demonstrate contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and other global challenges.
The role will also build and manage strong international relations through the delivery of a programme of events and activities with key priority stakeholders including international governments, embassies, NGOs, UK and overseas royalty.
