The Role

The QC Coordinator is the main point of contact for inspection services on a project and for ensuring that the necessary quality requirements are identified and implemented through the project life cycle. They lead and co-ordinate all inspection resources deployed on a project to ensure that an effective inspection service is delivered in line with the agreed inspection strategy. The QC Co-ordinator provides assurance that the quality of the delivery of products and services satisfy stakeholder requirements and meets customer specifications

Key Accountabilities

To be the main point of contact for inspection services on a project and to provide the interface between customers and suppliers.

Providing inspection oversight and advice.

Providing advice and appropriate technical support to customers on QC and Inspection issues.

Ensuring that company quality requirements and expectations are clearly communicated to suppliers.

Confirming that products/outputs/deliverables meet specified requirements - through certification, validation and/or verification of inputs, processes and/or outputs.

Collating, monitoring and trending the quality of delivery performance in their area of responsibility using performance indicators.

Working with management to resolve quality control issues and ensure effective implementation of the inspection strategy.

Investigating quality related concerns and events and identifying appropriate corrective/preventive action.

Escalating quality issues to senior management through the Head of Quality as appropriate.

Measuring, monitoring and reporting cost of failure'.

Assessing the ability of suppliers to meet company specified requirements and participating in Tender Assessments and Supply Chain Audits as required.

Quality Leadership by acting as a role model for the behaviours that drive quality.

Recording quality events' in the site OSHENS system and encouraging others to do so.

Development of a robust project/operations QC strategy to align to the QA Strategy and programme needs.

Provision of an effective and resourced/co-ordinated inspection service in line with the agreed strategy in order to support project and site operations delivery.

Verification that Lifetime Quality Records (LTRs) are created and managed in accordance with company requirements.

Undertaking investigations into QC related problems and failures as assigned.

Achieving demonstrable levels of technical competence in line with the competency requirements for the role, and for maintaining skill levels through continued professional development and training.

Nominate point of Contact for Reviewing, marking up and accepting quality plans and other quality related documentation on behalf of the company

Accepting Lifetime Quality records on behalf of the company

Raising any quality deviation or non-conformance as an event to trigger investigation and learning

Essential Requirements

Diploma/Certificate in Quality Management

CSWiP 3.2 - Senior Weld Inspector

PCN Level II - Magnetic Particle (MPI)

PCN Level II - Dye Penetrant (DPI)

PCN Level II - Radiography (RPS)

Lead Auditor Certification ISO 9001

Possession of appropriate professional qualification, together with substantive experience of quality audit/assurance in a project delivery/heavy manufacturing and operations environment

Desirable Requirements

A proven track record in quality management - systems and product/service delivery.

A proven track record in training and delivery of quality improvement tools & techniques

Accredited to an appropriate professional body eg CQI, IRCA.
